Richardson's Cackling & Bar-headed Beauty
The Cardurnock Dotterel only showed briefly this morning (no photos this time) and I found myself drawn instead to a rarity on the far side of the Solway: Richardson's Cackling Goose. I picked it out eventually - after a lengthy walk and careful scanning through a scope buffeted by the arctic winds - but then something completely unexpected: Bar-headed Goose! Maybe the accompanying 'carrier' Barnacles, the wild and remote location, the full set of flight feathers and lack of rings will support its status as a possible wild bird... maybe!
