Peninsula Kite at last

A hunt for the Merlin on the marsh near Cardurnock proved fruitless today but upon my return to the car I noticed a distant raptor being mobbed by corvids over by the masts. It was some way off but its flight was clearly not that of a Buzzard; it also seemed too large for a Harrier, and as the sun caught its wings, I noticed the bird's orange/red hues. What clinched ID, though, was the forked tail: this was my first peninsula Red Kite! Despite the extreme distance, I decided to try a record shot using one of the masts as a focus point. Far easier was a Little Egret that posed nicely by one of the many roadside ponds near Campfield.
