East coast Ibis & supporting cast
A Glossy Ibis stole the show on the rarity front today - at Druridge Pools - but I spent at least as much time photographing an unusually obliging Grasshopper Warbler in the nearby dunes, located without difficulty the drake Garganey nearby and found my own Wood Warbler at an isolated woodland near Waren Mill. (The major rarity - Little Bittern - had disappeared overnight unfortunately.) On the way home I 'scoped two more rarities, this time at Grindon Lough: American Wigeon and Long-billed Dowitcher, which went at least some way to making up for the missing Bittern.
