Pied-billed plays ball - eventually!

A three-hour drive, some energy-sapping mountain biking, soggy knees and a three-hour wait surrounded by vicious Scottish midges was well worth it in the end: the elusive but 'semi-resident' American Pied-billed Grebe eventually showed - at 8.30pm! Frustratingly, it only showed briefly initially and then only came out into the open half an hour later, just as the sun was setting. There was, however, just enough light for me to get some pleasing images.
