Stint, Spot Red & Tawny

I was pleased to get all the local long-staying scarcities today (and yesterday evening) - all showing in good light.

The Tawny female was in her usual spot, the adult Little Stint was back on the mudflats having returned from its holiday on the Scottish side of the estuary and there were plenty of Black-tailed Godwits around, posing in the sunshine.

My only disappointment was failing to capture the Spotted Redshank on camera.

Not for the first time, once I'd set eyes on it, it flew and hid amongst the hundreds of Common Redshanks and quickly became another needle in a haystack. The following day (30th) I got better shots of the Stint.
