Med migrants make my day

Saturday was non-eventful in the main but an influx of Ruff (c.10) and a stunning adult Mediterranean Gull raised my spirits - along with a flock of recently arrived Barnacle Geese heading towards the Solway against a stunning sunset. The next day, the rarity I'd heard about on Saturday had survived the night and was showing well over on the Cumbrian-Northumberland border. I arrived late morning with high hopes but had to wait a good hour before it showed down by the river - a much more appealing setting than the cemetery where it had been reported! Anyway, it eventually showed brilliantly; just a shame the light was so poor.
