Waxwings at last!

Pelton, near Newcastle, proved to be the closest location for this species today, and given the disappearance of more local birds, I felt compelled to head east and hope there were enough berries still to keep them there. My gamble paid off: 18 birds were present high up in the trees and occasionally they would come down to berries (rowan mainly) to feed.
