Peruvian paradise

What a trip! 340 species including 249 lifers and 16 endemics - without really trying (apparently) and with a whole bunch of culture thrown into the mix. The photos speak for themselves (there are about 30 in the gallery now) but even these don't do the birds justice: some of the best (mouth-watering bucket-list beauties) proved out of camera reach or hid from the limelight, and some days were curtailed due to landslides and miners' strikes. Still, the whole two weeks were quite wonderful, made all the more so by the company, expertise and good humour of our guide, Jesus of the Jungle.
