Brilliant Bustard!
Species no. 404 was a doddle. Okay, so it involved another long drive but the bird had been present for a month (remarkably) and in the same spot; directions were spot on; and it was a big bird with nowhere for it to hide. I arrived after a two-and-a-half hour drive, parked up, walked down the road in question, located the footpath easily and soon bumped into other twitchers. And there it was, distantly but unmistakably, my first British Little Bustard! (I had seen this species a couple of times in southern Europe) but one turning up in Britain was rare indeed. The bird showed relatively well but kept its distance, so I took a few record shots, enjoyed views through the scope and then left it for others to admire.
