Stunning Stejneger's Stonechat

Whitburn has produced many a good bird over the years and it was no surprise that another rarity and potential lifer for me had been spotted in the area, typically in the October half-term window. Finding the right spot wasn't that easy, though - there are a number of hidden bays and gullies along this stretch of coastline with this one being a fair walk south from the lighthouse. The appearance of a sizeable groups of twitchers up ahead gave the game away and within minutes I was watching and photographing my first Stejneger's Stonechat (likely to be split from Siberian, which I hadn't seen either).
