Leighton Reedlings and Sizergh Hawfinches

An early start enabled me to connect with one of my favourite species at Sizergh (Hawfinches) and as anticipated, four of these delightful creatures appeared high in the tree tops above the café soon after daybreak. Sadly, that is where they stayed until they flew off at about 9am. Annoyingly, I was then too late arriving at Leighton Moss where the Bearded Tits had moved on from the grit feeders but I was lucky enough to catch them hopping around in the reeds close to the footpath nearby.
