Waxwings at last!
Well, having missed out a couple of times, I ended up pinning down some of these beauties, this time in Dumfries town centre. The light wasn't great but I got some pleasing images nonetheless. There were 20 in all and annoying, they spent most of their time high up in the tree tops above the car-park. Only occasionally would they fly down and feed on the orange rowan berries between the medical centre and the main road, and even then their sorties would be all too brief, harassed as they were by the resident Mistle Thrushes.
