All happening on the home front

It's not often that I come home after a stint of local birding with a smile on my face, but today (16th August) I got lucky. Two trips to Anthorn produced the following: a summer-plumage adult Curlew Sandpiper (haven't seen one of these in the UK for a while), 2 Ruff, 2 Greenshank, Wheatear, Kingfisher, 2 Barnacle Geese (usual at this time of year) and best of all, two Osprey. Some circumnavigation and persistence paid off with the last of these, and I ended up taking some of my best shots of this species.
