Kites and Wildfowl in glorious sunshine

After some nice shots of Whooper Swans, various ducks and some cracking Yellowhammers at Caerlaverock, I moved on to Laurieston where the Red Kites allowed me to test out the tracking on my new camera. I was less impressed with this, but I sensed I hadn’t got the settings right and will need to play around with this feature more before passing judgement. When the focus latched on, it stuck like glue, which was great, and these are some of the images I managed. It still annoys me every time I go to the Kite place that the hides face south/south-west – the worst possible place when the sun’s out. Anyway, after some careful editing, I managed to get some images I was pleased with. To be honest, it's not difficult getting nice shots of Red Kites; they are so photogenic and with decent light, they make great subjects.
