Long trek for little

Clue's in the title here. I dipped on the Sizergh Hawfinches, dipped on the Leighton Moss Bearded Tits and dipped on the Green-winged Teal at Fell End Nature Reserve - by a minute! Terrific. The one positive, I suppose, was exploring a new reserve for me down at the extreme southern end of the county: Fell End NR, catching up with my first Cumbrian Marsh Tits and getting good shots of Treecreeper. To be fair, Marsh Harriers showed well at Leighton Moss, and I would have had great shots of Cetti's Warbler had the damned thing stayed put for more than just a few seconds. It was essentially a day of near misses.
