One of the Ring-neckeds returns
Today (14th January 2024), I settled by the bank at Longtown Pond and waited patiently for various duck species to swim past. Much to my annoyance, the Ring-necked kept its distance. However, this is where the new camera came into its own. Focus was easy, and with the large file size, I was able to crop it very heavily and still end up with a decent record shot. Yes, it would have been great to get the bird when it first showed, but at least I managed an image this time and had fun shooting from low angles over a largely mirrorlike lake.
