Wood Warblers play hide and seek

I got up ridiculously early today to head north of the border to the usual raptor site. Hen Harriers (and Whinchat) were in evidence but vanished for long periods and the heat haze ruined any chance of a decent shot after about 7am, so I headed south-east to Miltonrigg Wood for Wood Warbler. Despite their relative abundance, it took 1000+ shots to get something half-decent today, partly due to the inevitable twigs and foliage in the way, partly because of focussing issues with my lens. Anyway, to cut a long story short, I did get a few I was quite pleased with and it was lovely just to stand and stare at these marvellous songsters - which you just don't get closer to home.
